Component 6 addresses the technical barriers that hinder the promotion and utilization of RE technologies/systems. These barriers include the lack of standards as well as testing, verification, and quality control measures that make product standards enforcement difficult. Activities under this component are geared towards upgrading the quality and efficiency of locally manufactured RE systems and equipment especially small-scale RE technologies that have the greatest potential for local market growth, i.e. solar PV and micro-hydro systems.

Expected Outputs

This subcontract include RE Technology Support, RE Standards Development, Development RE Standards and Best Practices, RE Equipment/System Standard Setting, Development of Standards and Testing Program, Establishment of National Stds. & Prescribed Practices, RE Technology Improvement Program, Assessment of Capacity Needs of RE Manufacturers, Design of Sustainable RE Technology Program
