Expected Outputs

Under Component 4, the CBRED Project is establishing three pilot funds, to support RE projects that promote and apply innovative strategies and delivery mechanisms (e.g., Renewable Energy Service Company or RESCO, Concession, Community-Based, and Lease-to-Own). These funds are intended to address the financing barriers to RE development and described as follows:

a) The Project Preparation Fund. A partial grant fund intended to assist NRE developers on project preparation, feasibility work and packaging.

b) The Loan Guarantee Fund. A loan guarantee mechanism for NRE projects in remote, off-grid locations; and

c) The Micro Finance Fund. A financing loan mechanism for off-grid or small-scale power projects at concessionary rates or long-term financing.

Subcontractor

International Resources Group-Philippines (IRG-P) is an energy and environmental consulting business based in Manila, Philippines.

It is guided by the philosophy that the introduction of renewable energy technologies wherever they make the most technical and economic sense, as well as the more efficient use of conventional fossil fuels constitute the most logical response to current energy supply volatility and environmental degradation issues.
