Information and Training Barriers
Non-availability of Up-to-date and Comprehensive RE Data
The segregated, non-integrated data gathering system on RE, and the inability of the RE project developers to assess such data are hampering efforts not only to promote RE but also to design effective RE delivery systems.
Lack of Success Stories on Sustainable RE Applications in the Country
This is a basic reason why market awareness is low and limited is the few success stories known, related to the technical and economic/financial sustainability of RE projects.
Lack of Technology Extension to Users and Suppliers of RE Technologies
Training programs on RE have catered to the upgrading of the technology needs of government personnel (e.g., DOE, NEA) but not the technology and skills upgrading needs of the people who will operate RE systems, particularly those in the rural areas.
Ineffective RE Promotion and Advocacy Programs
Despite the many activities that have been carried out in the past, there is still lack of users’ and government decision-makers’ awareness of RE, particularly in local government units (LGUs).
